Types of forest safari in Ranthambore National Park

Considered to be the flag bearer tiger reserve of the country, Ranthambore National Park is one of the most visited wildlife destinations which is popular for the best sighting of the majestic wild Tigers, accompanied by a rising population of endangered tiger species. The park authority tends to organize the jungle excursion inside this national park which is a dream come true for wildlife enthusiasts who visit this area from different parts of the globe.

Basically, there are two types of authorized forest safari that the forest authorities organize for their tourists so that they can explore the beauty of this place along with the rich abundance of flora and fauna inhabiting the dense forest. These two types of forest safari are the Canter safari and the Jeep Safari. Apart from Royal Bengal Tigers, other animals such as Jungle cats, Leopards, and striped Hyenas are also present in the forest that wildlife lovers encounter during their safari.

The park authorities are very particular about the timings provided for the Canter safari and the Jeep safari. They believe in the maintenance of a proper timetable when it comes to managing the safari timings for the tourists. There are two shifts when the Canter safari is being organized- the morning and the afternoon time. 20 Canters are allowed per shift which implies that a total of 40 Canters have permission to enter the park for the safari in a single day. The Canter safari provides equal comfort as the Jeep safari for wildlife sightseeing, sometimes even better than the latter one.

It is to be noted that the safari timing and duration for both the Canter and the Jeep Safari are equal. However, the only difference lies in the number of tourists accommodated per vehicle.
